Digging up the Marrow (2014) - I LOVED THIS FILM

DIGGING UP THE MARROW (2014)

Just because something doesn't look like us or look like everybody else doesn't mean that it's scary. I mean, my whole life I've only wanted to see a real monster. You know, like when I was little I'd look under my bed, I'd look in the closet, not cause I was afraid but because I wanted it to be real.

Director Adam Green is making a documentary about William Dekker, a retired detective who has contacted him claiming to have proof of real monsters. While at first Green is skeptical, Dekker is strange enough to be believable. Dekker tells him all about a place called the Marrow where the monsters hide. The monsters are really, according to him, deformed humans who have hidden from society. Dekker takes Green and his cameraman out to the Marrow where they wait to get a glimpse of these real life monsters. But is it all a figment of Dekker's imagination? Or is it possible that monsters truly are real?

Overall?
Guys...I LOVED this movie. This was right up my alley. Adam Green has a great resume including Frozen which I watched for the first time in October and fell in love with. Obviously in this movie he's playing a sort of parody of himself but it's so fun to watch. There's so many little nods and jokes and plays heavily on the idea that...we all love horror so much, but what if it was real? What if monsters were real? Logically wouldn't we be super excited about that? Green just wants monsters to be real and when he finally sees one he's thrilled. But of course, no one believes him, even when he shows the footage. Everyone just complains about the lighting or asks him who does his effects. BUT THEY'RE REAL. But of course no one believes him.

It's a really fun ride through the film. Dekker is played by Ray Wise who does such a phenomenal job. You really flip back and forth - at first you're skeptical of Dekker, then you want to believe him, then you think he's nuts, then you just so badly want it to be true.

The monsters were created by artist Alex Pardee and the illustrations shown are so amazing and when you finally get to see the monsters come to life it's really something special.

What did I like?
  • It was actually super spooky! The scene where the first monster appears really took me off guard, and any time after that a monster appeared it was shocking. It is a pretty slow paced movie in the sense that it's documentary style then all of a sudden horror happens, so every time you're caught off guard.
  • The monsters...I mean goddamn. Those monsters. So amazingly done and so scary and spooky and I just want t-shirts and art work of all of them pasted all over my house and body.
  • Adam Green was delightful.
  • Ray Wise was a powerhouse and Dekker's story is actually so emotional.
  • I loved the ending!

What didn't I like?
  • Nothing, I actually loved this film you guys! I don't know if you can tell?!
Recommendation?

Solid 10/10. Not for everyone, I respect that. But this was exactly all the things I love and when I saw the trailer for the first time a few years ago I just knew I would love it. And I was not let down. I'm just mad it took me so long to finally watch it. Big shout out to Shudder for always having the best collection.

Stay Spooky!

Open Windows and CHUCKY ALERT!

CHUCKY ALERT! CHUCKY ALERT!
The most wonderful woman in the world, Jennifer Tilly, has been tweeting up a storm as she begins filming Cult of Chucky out in Manitoba. And the photos are amazing:

The one of Tiffany made me so happy I cried a little bit. GODDAMNIT I CANT WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!
Anyway, we've had like four major snowstorms over the past few days which is some complete bullshit and we have another happening right now. So I watched Open Windows because I've put it off for a long time thinking it would just be another version of The Den. But I was wrong! Let's talk about it....
OPEN WINDOWS (2014)
Written and directed by Nacho Vigalondo, Open Windows came out in 2014 and stars Elijah Wood, Sasha Grey and Neil Maskell.
Nick Chambers (played by Elijah Wood) runs a fan site for his favorite actress, Jill Goddard (played by Sasha Grey). Nick has won what he believes to be a contest where he will get to have dinner with Jill after her convention appearance for her new movie. When Nick is set up at the hotel he is watching the live stream of the convention when he gets a facetime call from a stranger named Chord (Neil Maskell). At first, Nick believes Chord works for Jill’s team and is cancelling the dinner meet and greet. But soon things get quickly out of control after Chord gives Nick access to Jill’s iphone and they start tracking her phone calls. Jill is headed to the hotel where Nick is staying at to meet her agent (and secret boyfriend) and Chord convinces Nick to set up a camera that watches their hotel room.
But when the agent spots Nick spying on them, things turn haywire very quickly and Nick finds himself wrapped up in a fight for his and Jill’s life.
Overall?
This film is…ambitious.
It’s very “Rear Window” like at the beginning but obviously plays on pulling this off with modern technology. Are we not all “rear window-ing” each other nowadays? The first part is also sort of commenting on that pop culture instinct that we see every day that celebrities “owe” us something. Chord complains about the lack of breast shots of Jill in the media and blames her for that.
The film takes place using various screens like Nick’s webcam, Jill’s phone, a dashboard cam, Chord’s equipment etc. But again, this film is ambitious and so comes off a little ridiculous really quick. There’s so many twists in this movie that it gets confusing and if you even stop for a second to think through the logic it quickly falls apart. And considering I was multi-tasking while watching this movie, I actually got more annoyed by the “logic” instead of just watching it straight through.
It’s edited in a way though that keeps the movie moving fast and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Elijah Wood’s performance is really great and believable which helps. But Nick as a character is questionably flawed – who accepts a random call on their computer and then does everything that person says no matter how ridiculous?
And again, with the lack of logic, I’m left with a lot of questions.
I did have a good time watching it, it plays more like a fast paced thriller than a horror film, and will most likely watch it again.
6/10

Where I finally watch The Pyramid

Yeah, yeah, it's not on my list. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was on last years' list. BUT...I'm the only one at work today for a few hours so I've set up camp in the kitchen where the TV + Netflix is and with only access to Netflix Canada, I have chosen to watch The Pyramid. At 8:15am. Alone. On New Year's  Eve. My life gets so angsty sometimes.

Note I'm only paying half attention because I am actually working.

But backstory, that no one asked for - I was not a high achiever in school. I got that I had to be there, and I worked to pass, but it wasn't until we began to study Ancient Egypt and its' Gods and the Mummies and the pyramids, that I finally discovered that great feeling of a thirst for knowledge. I poured over books reading about all of this fascinating lore and history, going above and beyond what was asked of me in class. My interest for Ancient Egyptian history never waned. And when The Mummy came out when I was junior high, I went nuts for it. I was convinced I would be an archeologist and dig up dinosaurs (I also loved Jurassic Park) and Mummies. Clearly, since I'm not blogging from a dig site right now, I did not achieve that dream.

So when I saw a trailer for The Pyramid - a found footage horror film about a group of archeologists who discover a three sided pyramid buried in the sand - I felt that excitement in my belly. And that poster!!!! It's a great poster. But I have kept putting it off and putting it off. It's been on my 'to-watch' list since the first time I saw the trailer. And I think I've been putting it off because I know it won't be that great. And as the reviews came in and I saw lots of 2/5 stars, I knew the truth.

BUT, as I always say, I like to form my own opinion from actually watching this shit - so here we are.

The Pyramid came out in 2014 and was directed by Gregory Levasseur. The plot of the film revolves around an archaeological team who, during the Egyptian protests in 2013, discover a three sided pyramid buried in the desert. They discover a tunnel but when it's opened, a poisonous gas is released, killing a worker. The team is then ordered to leave the site because of the uprising in Giza but the team are unwilling to give up what they've worked so hard to find. They send a remote controlled robot into the pyramid to survey but soon after entering, the robot is attacked by something and goes offline. This leaves the team nothing to do but enter themselves....because horror movie.

(spoilers going forward)

It stars Ashley Hinshaw (Gossip Girl), Denis O'Hare (American Horror Story: Freakshow), and James Buckley (The Inbetweeners)

This is one of those infuriating found footage films where most of it doesn't make any sense as to why they're filming, or how they're being filmed. And it does sometimes take you out of the film because you're suddenly thinking...wait...how is that camera angle possible? does this ancient pyramid have security cameras already inside? what?

The group, once inside the pyramid, fall apart pretty quickly. They all start bickering right away which is a bit annoying. Like, ya'll chill, take a second, you're inside a pyramid that's never been discovered, get some perspective.
The pyramid starts collapsing as the group gets hopelessly lost and then they all fall into a room basically full of feces. Which they blame on a dog trapped inside, which according to this group of educated individuals, also attacked their robot. Cause dogs live to be 5000 years old. Then a giant piece of the ceiling falls on Michael, which is kind of a relief, because he was kind of a dick.

Sunni, the camera woman/interviewer, finds a hole in the ceiling and decides to climb up it because they need to escape obviously. Then, what can only be described as one of those naked cat things but like...giant...attacks her face. This group of university graduates all still believe it is a dog. This 5000 year old dog which has now managed to destroy their robot, fill a room with shit, and stalk this group through a pyramid that has been sealed for god knows how long.

Reading the hieroglyphics on the wall, they discover a tunnel leading out of the shit room and after more bickering, they decide to take it. They leave Michael behind, who btw survived the giant rock hitting him but is basically stuck beneath it.

Once they get through to the next tunnel shit basically hits the fan. There's a creature coming at them from all angles. And so they decide to turn off all the lights, because even though this creature has lived in the pitch black for 5000 years, it's safe to assume it can't see in the dark....right?

After a bunch of awesome booby traps are set off, Sunni falls into a pit, because she's just full of bad luck today. AND THEN THOSE NAKED CATS START EATING HER. It was amazing. Like, my favorite part of the film so far. At least this group finally figured out it wasn't a dog.

Now that there's only three left, they're all starting to get very sick. They discover a dead body with a freemason ring on. CONSPIRACYYYYYY.
Then there's this gnarly scene where the lead archeologist is standing there talking and all of a sudden a fucking hand just punches through his chest and there's blood everywhere. It was so bad ass. And then you hear all these like...Mummy roars? Which are actually quite spooky.

Then you get to see the Mummy and although it's super CGI it's actually pretty sick because it's NOT A MUMMY. It's some sort of giant cat creature. But, it's actually Anubis!!!!!! ANUBIS YOU GUYS!!! Anubis was the protector of the graves in ancient Egypt and was also an embalmer. He was lord of the underworld until he was replaced by Osiris. Anubis was known to usher souls into the afterlife by attending the "Weighing of the Heart" which determined whether a soul would be allowed to enter the realm of the dead. HE'S SO COOL!

They actually do a pretty cool job of what it looks like. Even though it's clearly CG, it doesn't pull you out of the story. It's still creepy as fuck. And anyway, this just means the final two are fucked. Of course, when you finally see Anubis up close and personal. It looks awful. It looks like Scooby Doo looked in those live action films.

Anyway, Anubis and the last standing lady face off. The young lady escapes but is basically dying. A small white child (because there's a lot of those wandering around the Egyptian desert) finds her but SURPRISE Anubis snatches the child and the movie ends.

Was it great? No. Was it fun? Kind of. Will I watch it again? Yes.
This pulled on my history strings (even though none of this is accurate) and I didn't hate it or feel super disappointed.

5/10

Alright,
It's New Year's Eve! I'm actually leaving the house this evening maybe so that will be coooooool. Then on Saturday I fly home to Calgary to see my folks.

DAY TWENTY-TWO - The Guest (horror movie challenge - 31 days of horror)

I'm a day behind and coming to you live from a laundromat! Thursday night I was supposed to watch The Guest but instead got distracted by a documentary Mitch turned on about aliens on the moon. So last night I thought, perfect, I'll just watch two movies. Instead, I watched half of The Guest, had it turned off for the Jays game, then finished it, then watched My Name is Earl.
BUT! Now I'm only a day behind. And it's Saturday so I've got all afternoon to watch two horror films. And tomorrow I'm doing absolutely nothing except carving pumpkins - so I'll be all caught up no problem.
Tonight I'm going to Fright Nights, which is our local haunted house place with like 5 haunts and rides and food and stuff so I'm pretty excited!

DAY TWENTY-TWO - THE GUEST (2014)

More thriller than horror, directed by Adam Wingard (You're Next) and starring Dan Stevens. It follows David, a war veteran who has arrived at the house of a family whose son died in the war. David lets them know that their son Caleb asked him to take care of them in case he died. The family welcomes him in, especially the mother, Mrs. Peterson. There are two kids, Luke and Anna. Luke becomes fond of David very quickly after David destroys Luke's bullies. Anna starts to fall for him. But then people around the family keep dying and Anna begins to look into who David really is, only to find out that "David" had died a week prior in a fire. Now the military are involved and David is panicking.

The overall tone of this film was wonderful - a great score, beautiful imagery, a haunting performance by David. David is so devastatingly handsome but you can instantly tell there's something off about him. David is kind of like Norman Bates where you can never quite tell if he's joking or not, and he's so unnerving.

What I didn't love about this film was the sort of...plot twist? The reality of what David really was. It went from a mysterious thriller to an action film in the last half hour and it lost me. Maybe I had different expectations going in, thinking it would be more like...David's a total nut case here to stalk this family. But it's all very military, secret government programs etc. Which I just don't love unless it's an episode of The X-Files.

I know the film was specifically structured as a horror film, but meant to be more of a thriller, but for me that just didn't work. Maybe I need to re-watch it with fresh eyes and no expectations and I would enjoy it more. And hopefully not have to take a break half way through to watch the Jays lose.

Alright, I've got three movies to watch this weekend to keep on track and one of them is Insidious 3. The other two - I have no idea what to watch. I've gone so far off my original list. I'll just scroll through itunes and see what's new. Maybe The Final Girls?
FIND OUT ON MY NEXT POST!
My first ever cliff hanger....

Also check out this awesome new shirt I got from TeeFury

I've gotta go finish my laundry and buy some pumpkins to carve!

DAY TWENTY - Doc of the Dead (horror movie challenge - 31 days of horror)

DAY TWENTY - DOC OF THE DEAD (2014)

So this obviously isn’t a horror film. But it’s my list and I do what I want. I’ve also wanted to see this documentary for a while and boy was it a joy to watch! Doc of the Dead was written and directed by Alexandre Philippe and focuses on the zombie genre as a whole. Where did it begin? How did it get so big? What does “zombie” even mean?

It’s really well put together and has a great host of people talking about zombie culture including Simon Pegg, George A. Romero, Bruce Campbell, Tom Savini, Greg Nicotero, Robert Kirkman and Max Brooks (just to name a few). It follows all aspects including what if zombies were real, should zombies be slow or fast, does 28 Days Later count as a zombie film? It’s all so much fun to watch, and really entertaining, funny and heartfelt.
I’ll for sure watch it again and would recommend it to anyone who’s a zombie fan, or horror fan, or just curious about why everyone’s so obsessed with the walking dead. 10/10

LOTS OF HORROR NEWS YA’LL~
Which is why I kept the review pretty short. But also reviewing a documentary is weird, I don’t know why. So let’s delve right in:

According to Bloody Disgusting, Friday the 13th has been pushed back again, this time to a Friday the 13th in 2017. This is most likely due to their search for a new writer, they’re currently accepting new scripts. Which means the 80’s throwback we all got excited about…not happening. Unless of course one of the newer scripts has the same idea. Honestly, I'm just happy they're even making another one. I even loved the 2009 reboot. I just love Friday the 13th and Jason and maybe I should write the script and send it in...right guys? guys? right?
Rings has also been pushed back from November of this year to April 1st of next year. Which makes sense considering its October and all we’ve got is a set photo that looks like me when I get out of bed every morning. But you know what, that’s okay with me. Take your time with the movie and make it right ya know? I’m willing to wait if it means it gives the movie a better chance of being amazing.

We’ve also been getting a tone of stuff about the new X-files event/mini-series/sequel etc. Yesterday we got a great new teaser trailer, and we’ve gotten a tone of awesome posters, set photos, and show photos. I’M SO EXCITED! It did film here, but I wasn’t able to catch any of the filming because of work and never leaving my house. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are back as Agent Fox Mulder and Agent Dana Scully. In the “pilot” episode they will be taking on a case of a possible alien abductee. My body is ready.
Check out the new teaser:

Stay Spooky ya'll!

DAY SEVENTEEN - Cooties (horror movie challenge - 31 days of horror)

DAY SEVENTEEN - COOTIES (2014)

I've been waiting so long for this film!! I just loved the silly concept of it; a group of teachers are trapped inside of a school after tainted chicken nuggets turn the children into flesh eating zombies. The movie was written by Ian Brennan (co-creator of Glee and Scream Queens) and Leigh Whannell (writer of Saw, Insidious and Dead Silence), directed by Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott. It has a great cast including horror favorite Elijah Wood and Rainn Wilson, also Jack McBrayer, Alison Pill and Nasim Pedrad. It was produced by Elijah Wood's production company Spectre Vision.

It's really funny! Elijah Wood is subbing for the day, trying to pay the bills, because in his every day life he's a "writer from New York", which he brings up at every second. He's back living with his mom in the small town of Fort Chicken which he grew up in. The book he's writing is about a possessed boat. "Like Christine," "....what?". But when a child in his class bites the face off of another, shit gets real.

The teachers are amazing and all given enough screen time to truly show of their comedic talents. The kids are minor characters, just zombies to be killed, which I kind of love. In fact, the kids before they turn are already monsters - cell phone using, foul mouthed, asshole monsters. Which is pretty much how I see them anyway. Then when they turn they become mindless blood thirsting monsters. Which is also how I see them anyway.

The movie is filled with stereotypical horror movie tropes but they do it in a fun way that stops you from rolling your eyes. I mean, zombies themselves have been completely played out but Cooties gives a tiny bit of fresh air into the genre.

I had a really fun time watching it, and so did Mitch who watched it with me. We were both laughing quite a bit, especially in the first half. My only complaint is the movie felt so long. Near the end both of us were kind of sitting there like, is this still happening? There were a tone of scenes that could've been cut. It would've been way more fun if it was a quick horror comedy romp, but the length felt exhausting near the end and took me out of the experience.

But like I've said, I had a tone of fun watching it and I'll watch it again for sure. Go rent it on itunes!

8/10

Anway, I'm off to go eat a dairy free, gluten free pizza because my life is the worst and food allergies are not fun. But I am super excited I finally found a "cheese" "pizza". See you back here tomorrow!

DAY SIXTEEN - Girl House (horror movie challenge - 31 days of horror)

DAY SIXTEEN - GIRL HOUSE (2014)

THIS MOVIE WAS AMAZING!!! Yessssss!!! I was in such a funk because everyone's been asking me about this challenge and I've had to be like...yeah, they're okay, nothing's standing out. Except Backcountry. I loved that damn film. BUT NOW ALL HAS CHANGED. Because I watched Girl House. And this movie fucking rocked.

It's a canadian film directed by Trevor Matthews and starring Adam DiMarco and Ali Cobrin. Our lead girl Kylie decides to join an X-rated reality web series, like Big Brother for porn, called Girl House. She moves in and is assured the house is completely safe from anyone. There's
a few other girls in there who make her feel at home but there's a fan boy of the house called Loverboy who becomes enraged when the girls drunkenly make fun of him. He hacks into the house's system and begins killing them one by one.

It's an absolute joy of a film. It's very 80's slasher, super aware of itself, lots of hacking and slashing, lots of boobs. The girls are all unique characters and Kylie is a wonderful lead - confident, but damaged, who knows she's doing the right thing but is still conflicted. I could've watched another hour of the girls just interacting and Kylie falling in love. Loverboy is the perfect villain. Creepy, believable, and when he breaks into the house he wears a face he ripped off of one of those sex dolls.

The two guy characters, one being Kylie's boyfriend, and the other his room mate, are a great dynamic and I was freaking out as they watch the murders happen in girl house and try to stop it from happening. It reminded me of Halloween Resurrection, but like....a better version of that story.

It's such a unique concept and carefully thought out. I just love it so much, and it is so refreshing. This is why horror can be so great and so much fun.

Beautifully shot, great dialogue, flawless story lines, and so much fun to watch. I will aggressively recommend this to everyone and will for sure watch it over and over. 10/10.

Now I need to make the tough decision on which movie to watch for day 17....I just took a browse through itunes to find Knock Knock, Cooties, AND THE FINAL GIRLS are available for rent. I'm screwed. Thank god it's a Saturday so I can do nothing and probably just watch all three. Or four....Poltergeist is there too....dammit.

Stay spooky!

DAY THIRTEEN - The Houses October Built (horror movie challenge - 31 days of horror)

DAY THIRTEEN – THE HOUSES OCTOBER BUILT (2014)
Lucky number 13! The Houses October Built. I actually watched this around Halloween last year but we had a few friends over so it wasn’t really watching, more talking and yelling over it while the movie happened in the background.
This is a found footage film following a group of friends who are on a quest to find the scariest haunt they can. A haunt being the haunted houses that people create and set up every year for Halloween. This group have heard of a really obscure one that you need a password to get into, and so they travel around the back country of America, going into haunts and searching for this unique, secret one. But along their journey they are slowly being terrorized by a group of people dressed up in costumes. When the friends finally discover the password, the haunt is WAY more than they bargained for.

Houses is the directorial debut of Bobby Roe, and as far as first films go…he did a great job! When they’re in the houses, the found footage camera work is almost nauseating unfortunately and the ending is a hogwash of mess that you can’t quite figure out what’s happening…in a bad way. But aside from those flaws, it’s fine.
The idea of the film is unique and fun, especially for the holiday season, and the cast do a fantastic job of being natural and realistic. The costumed group of attackers remain creepy instead of cheesy and the interviews with the locals keep you entranced.

As far as scares go? There aren’t any for me, but maybe someone not so conditioned to horror films might get a little jumpy. The costumes are super spooky though and scared me more than the film itself.
Won’t watch again, twice is more than enough, and probably wouldn’t recommend unless it was for like a party/background noise type thing. 4/10.

Almost half way through now! See you back here tomorrow for day 14.

Stay Spooky!

DAY NINE - Backcountry (horror movie challenge - 31 days of horror)

DAY NINE - BACKCOUNTRY (2014)

Backcountry was AMAZING. It's a Canadian horror film written and directed by Adam MacDonald and starring Missy Peregrym, Jeff Roop and Eric Balfour. It's based on the true events of Jacqueline Perry and Mark Jordan who were viciously attacked by a bear who preyed on humans in Northern Ontario, back in 2005. Jacqueline did not make it.

Backcountry focuses around Alex and Jenn, a couple who are going camping for the long weekend. Jenn is not a camper and is very wary of the dangers of the forest (like she should be) and Alex is a veteran camper who knows everything about the area (yeah right). But when the couple get lost, the forest comes alive with a human hunting bear and they must fight to get out alive.

This movie was so exciting! And proves to me that my flat out refusal to go camping is the right move. Nature is much scarier than any horror movie. And honestly out of the 8 movies I've watched so far this month, the scariest moment has been when Jenn and Alex are sleeping in the tent and the bear starts sniffing around them. I almost shit myself.

BUT....Alex is world class asshole. Let me tell you the many reasons he deserves to die:
  • Alex declines the map from the ranger. Claims he knows the land well enough even though he hasn't been there in years.
  • He secretly removes Jenn's cellphone from her backpack before they enter into the trail because he didn't want her on it the whole time.
  • When he first sees a bear paw print in the woods....he continues on.
  • When he sees a dead dear carcass that has clearly been ripped apart by a bear...he continues on.
  • He hurts his foot and decides to hang his freshly bloodied socks from a tree near their tent....knowing there's a bear nearby.

I hated him. But I LOVED Jenn. Let me tell you the many reasons Jenn is a final girl in this fim and the ultimate bad ass:
  • When they realize they are lost, Jenn panics, but the next day she completely takes charge of the situation. This is a girl who has never been camping and is truly afraid, but she puts those emotions aside and works her ass off to get the two of them out of there. Meanwhile Alex is slowly turning into an emotional wreck.
  • She gets clawed by a bear and barely notices because she's so focused on saving her boyfriend.
  • At one point she actually manages to out run a bear for a short period of time.
  • She falls and gets a major head injury but still manages to climb a tree at night to hide.
  • She breaks her damn leg climbing down a waterfall but still manages to navigate her way out of the woods, and paddle a canoe to safety.
  • She only cries once when she's fighting to survive on her own.

There were a few plot holes and silly moments in this movie - the moment with the Irish tour guide was filled with stereotypes and awkward dialogue. And their backpacks didn't seem able to fit all the stuff they seemed able to carry.

But I loved it, I had a great time watching it, I was truly terrified by the bear. I felt deeply for Jenn and Alex and was rooting for them (not so much Alex). I actually cheered a few times when Jenn managed to pull something off. The scenery was absolutely stunning and did not make me want to leave my house at all, but I could take a second to appreciate how pretty it would be if I did.

Absolutely enjoyed it the whole way through, will definitely be recommending it aggressively. 10/10.

Not sure how I'm going to coordinate the next two movies and blog them because I actually have plans this weekend. Mitch is playing a show tonight which I'm going to and tomorrow is Friendsgiving. BUT I will figure it out. And hopefully Sofia can join us again too.

Stay spooky! And happy long weekend fellow Canadians!
